Central to the nature of the Rochester RHIO is its community governance and collective decision making process. The results of this community effort result in a series of policies and operational guidelines and agreements that govern all participants use and interaction with such a shared clinical utility. Policies include those relating to patient privacy, security, access, configuration and use of the HIE. The RHIO will review these policies with each new participating organization and provide audit capabilities to ensure that all participants are working within these frameworks.
